The second episode's official synopsis reads: "Jinwoo has fulfilled his promise to Jinho to conquer a dungeon 19 times, and his level has increased since he fought Cerberus. To gather materials for the 'Holy Water of Life' that may cure his mother's illness, he once again challenges the S-class dungeon 'Demon Castle'. The condition imposed on Jinwoo to clear the quest there is to collect 10,000 demon souls." Noboru Kimura is responsible for the episode's script and is joined by Hiroki Hirano (storyboard), Koji Furukawa (episode director), Hirotaka Tokuda (chief animation director) and animation directors Naoaki Hojo, Sora Ishitsuka, Emi Yamazaki, Yuusuke Kawabe, Haruka Hinata and Masataka Mori.

Similar to Season 1, Solo Leveling Season 2 continues to enjoy major success; Episodes 1 and 2 have 238.6k and 157.3k likes from fans, respectively. The Solo Leveling Japanese X (formerly Twitter) account also recently celebrated 100k followers. Episode 2 was also praised online for its humor. Despite Solo Leveling director Shunsuke Nakashige revealing why they cut down on the comedic expressions for the anime, the latest episode featured fun depictions of Iron and Jinwoo's other Shadows, as well as misunderstandings between Jinwoo, Jinho, and Han Song-Yi in the car.
